Since my car accident a couple of years ago stitching (along with my friends and family who I am eternally grateful for) helped me get through the days where I couldn't do anything else.
Even on those days where I spend more time reverse stitching than I do actually stitching it is still therapeutic for me.
There was a period of 2 months when I broke my left elbow and dislocated my left wrist and I couldn't do any stitching. All my projects sat idle and stared at me. I couldn't wait until I got out of my cast and was able to hold the frame and the needle again!
Now since I am unemployed in my freetime (when I am not applying for more jobs or going for interviews or trying to build my own company) I sit and stitch.
I completely lose track of the time when I sit by the window or next to my lamp and stitch. But I would prefer not to stitch on my own, I love stitching with my two best friends.
I also love all the odd numbered months and on the last Saturday of said months where I go to my 12 hour stitch and bitch with my mother in law and my two best friends. Of course we don't sit and stitch for 12 hours...there is the tea shop, the ice cream shop, the candy store and you can't forget about the quilting shop...plus all the gossip and gabbing that we do too. lol.
The countdown for the May stitch and bitch is on! Can't wait!!
